He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Homer and Margaret Austin; his daughter-in-law Mary Kay Rukas Evans; his brother Col. Herbert W.; his sister-in-law Margaret Evans; and his nephew David Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Marianne Austin Evans; his children, John Richard Evans, Jr. (late Mary Kay) of Beaver Falls, PA, Michael Scott Evans (Shawn Marie) of Land, Wendy Ellen Swartz (David B.) of Melbourne Beach and Eric Austin Evans (Kari Leigh) of Fort Payne, AL.; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ann, Austin Nicholas, Benjamin Michael, Aubrey Nicole Evans and Ella Lauren Swartz; and his brother James O. Evans (Linda) of Manheim, PA. He is also survived by children, their spouses, and his grandchildren.
