Betty Jane Chwatek Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Jane Chwatek of North East, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 15, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Stanopewicz and Regina Stanopewicz (Bojarski); and her sisters, Theresa Steglik and Barbara Duska. She is survived by: her husband Stanley A. Chwatek; her children, Deborah Sceiford (Joseph) of North East, Stanley Chwatek (Shelley) of North East and Jason Chwatek (Wendy) of Harborcreek; her sister Christine DeSantis (Anthony) of Fairview; and her grandchildren, Stanley (Karley), Chelsey, Joseph, Alexandra, Gracie, Dylan, Chloey and Tucker. She is also survived by great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home (65 S Lake St, North East, PA 16428). A prayer will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St Gregory Thaumaturgus Church (48 S Pearl St, North East, PA 16428). A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Gregory Cemetery (9501 W Main St, North East, PA 16428).
