He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Merritt and Pauline Merritt (DiSante); and his son Derek C. Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Carol Merritt (Loconsole); his sons, Thomas M. Merritt (May) of North Wales and Nathan F. (Jennifer Gable) of Oaks; his grandsons, Paul Granese, Derek Michael, Nathan Farrell, Jr. and Nicholas Ryan; his brother Carl W. Merritt (Sue) of Jim Thorpe; and his nephews, Brian and Joshua Merritt. He is also survived by friends, family, three dogs, and one cat.
