He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence James and Grace Ann Loughlin; his wife Beatrix M. Loughlin (Wolthuis); and his siblings, Edward Loughlin (Henrietta) and Patricia Loughlin Gaskin.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela Stephenson (Brent), Denise Boaz (Christopher), John M. Loughlin (Shirl Fitzpatrick) and Christopher Loughlin (Andrea); his grandchildren, Bryan, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Christopher, Harrison, Lucy, Molly, Alicea, Conall, Katie, Grace and Gavin; and his brother-in-law Walter Gaskin. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
