He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Durante and Anna Durante (Marinari); his wife Doris Durante (Martz); and his brother Richard Durante (MaryAnn). He is survived by: his children, Michael Durante (Hope), Karl Durante, MaryAnn Whitsett (Jermaine) and Kathryn Price; his siblings, Mack Durante, Jr. (Mary Jane) and Beatrice Perna (late Tex); and also Missy. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

Known to his family as Sonny and his friends as Squeaky, he had been residing in the Ephrata area since the start of the covid19 pandemic, and to be closer to his children.
