He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Carl and Sarah Ellen Striner (Pirl); his son Robert Striner; and his siblings, James, Freddy, Robert, Jack Striner, June Robertson, Betty Woods Schomer and Elizabeh Williams.

He is survived by: his children, Donnie Carnes (Jackie), Brenda Grimm (David) and Melody Sines; and his siblings, Charles Pirl (Joyce) and Margaret Joll (Robert). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.
