He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson Birt and Mary Birt (Benscoter). He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Birt (Ash); his daughter Vicki Lawson of Tenn; his granddaughters, Aimee Lawson and Andi Lawson; and his brother Paul Birt of Tenn.
