She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Prowell and MaraBella Margaret Prowell (Hartman); and her children, Deborah Shuller and Jeff Garman. She is survived by: her husband Boyd Daniel Thumma; her sons, Michael Garman of Mechanicsburg and David Thumma of Dillsburg; and her sisters, Winifred Ilgenfritz of Scranton, Joan Simpson of Scranton and Joyce Cook of New Cumberland. She is also survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two nieces and two nephews.
