He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Mary Ann (Bannon); his daughters, Kristina Eichhorst (Eric) and Stephanie Waters (John); his grandchildren, Amelia, Adeline Eichhorst, Jack, Eddie and Charlie Waters; his parents, Edward Thomas Dixon and Jane Dixon (Nulty); and his siblings, Patricia Wilcox (Dale) and Francis.

His interest in art and antiques stem from his family's affiliation with the Barnes Foundation.
