He was predeceased by: his parents, Livia Fontanot and Ermenegildo Fontanot; and his brother Michael Fontanot. He is survived by: his wife Diane; his children, Christopher (Mayu) and Marissa Connor (Brendan); and his grandson Brady.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
