He was predeceased by: his parents, George Rutter and Margaret Rutter (Lyter); and his siblings, Elmer Rutter, Clarence Rutter, Robert Rutter, Tommy Rutter, Mary Rosenberry, Goldie Graziano, Ann Shingler, Betty Kerndale and Violet Hughes.

He is survived by: his wife Mabel Rutter (Harshbarger); and his children, David Rutter (Sherri), Tammy Grissinger (Roy) and Randy Rutter (Melissa). He is also survived by brother, Jack Rutter, NY; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
