He was predeceased by: his parents, David E. Carbaugh and Alice H. Carbaugh (Mixell); and his brothers, Martin and Leroy. He is survived by: his wife Susan L. Abram; his children, Jason Carbaugh (Tricia) of Carlisle, Tony Carbaugh (Lori) of South Mountain, James Carbaugh (Janelle) of Lancaster, William Carbaugh, Jr. (Pam) of Orbisonia, Kathy and Susan; and his siblings, David and Betty. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
