He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Z. Godfrey and Regina M. Godfrey (Wright); his wife Helen M. Godfrey (Irwin); his son Morgan D. Godfrey, Sr.; and his sisters, Velma Shelton, June Turner and Georgie Chaney.
He is survived by: his children, Helen M. Williams (Denny) of Fayetteville, Deborah M. Godfrey of Shippensburg, Sabrina L. Whitsel of Harrisburg, Cristen H. Wittig (Timothy) of Fulks Run, VA, James D. Godfrey of Bedford and Steven L. Godfrey of State College, PA; his siblings, Joan M. Hoyle of Lynchburg, VA and Thomas Godfrey (Annemae) of Edgewood, MD; his adoptive son Hayden Godfrey; and his daughter-in-law Nancy Godfrey of Shippensburg. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
