She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy McKinon and Gertrude McKinon (White); her goddaughter Tamika McKinon-Yourse; her brother-in-law Ronald Russell; and her nephew Ronnie L. Russell.

She is survived by: her siblings, Marva Kirby (Leonard) of Uniontown, PA, Beverly Russell of New Salem, PA, Leroy McKinon (Ruth) of Pensacola, FL and Karen M. McKinon of Uniontown, PA.; her nieces and nephews, Toni Kirby, Leonard J. Kirby, Leon McKinon, Anthony Johnson, DeShaun Johnson, Terra Russell and Elita McKinon-Brown; and her godson Paul McCray. She is also survived by numerous cousins, relatives and great friends.

Joyce was a very active member in the community and was also president of the Business and Professional Women's Foundation.
