He is survived by: his wife Pauline Kaydo Cupples; his children, Jill Sweeney (Andy) of Greensburg, Sallie Richards (Tony) of McCandless and Richard Shotts (Meghan) of Scottdale; his grandchildren, Isaac, Katelyn, Samuel, John, Addison, Timothy, Cassidy, Gidian and Devon; and his sisters, Mary Ann McCormick (Jack) and Amy Ansell (Rod). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
