She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert L. Snyder and Betty Parmer Snyder; and her brothers, Lloyd Snyder and Jerry Snyder. She is survived by: her husband Jose Antonio Mendez; and her children, Wesley A. Mendez (Stacey Mendez), Tony A. Mendez (Lori Mendez), Melissa M. Mendez-Rivera (Matt Rivera), Valerie L. Mendez-Saez (Joe Saez), Stacey Y. Mendez-Albright (Wayne Albright), Jocelyn B. Mendez, Jacoby C. Mendez and Herman Santana (Eva Santana). She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and husband.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, 2101 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
