He was predeceased by: his father Donald F. Poist; his brother Mark Poist; his grandparents, George, Mary Poist, G. Marion and Mary Haar; and his brother-in-law Dale Smith.
He is survived by: his mother Peggy Poist (Haar) of New Oxford; his wife Shelby Poist (Lease); his son Devan J. Poist (Paige) of East Berlin; his stepson Chris Altland (Lori) of Hanover; his grandchildren, Caiden Altland, Camden Altland, Lincoln Poist and Jameson Poist; and his sister Beth R. Smith of Gettysburg. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
