He is survived by: his children, Deborah A. Hagerman (Jeffrey) of Hanover, James A. Merrel of East Berlin, Brenda M. Kirby of East Berlin and Thomas E. Merrel (Joyce). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
