She was predeceased by: her parents, Betty Shearer (Fagart) and J. Russell Stroup; and her husband Dennis Kowal. She is survived by: her sons, Scott Ganss (Deanna) of Gibsonia, Robert Ganss, Jr. of New Kensington and Matt Ganss (Jamie) of Brackenridge; her sister Sue Shearer (John) of Natrona Heights; and also Gayle Hazlett (Brad). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
