She is survived by: her sisters, Helen Blake, Lenora Brownlee and Vivian "Beanie" Connor; her husband John Lester Lyle; and her children, Andrew (Pamela), Towanda Marshall, John Tyrone, Torrence (Mary), Teralyn Stipetich (John), Anthony (Patrice), Tonyia Young (Harvey) and Trinnia Greenlee (William). She is also survived by 98 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Dorothy's passion for education can be honored through contributions to FAME (Fund for Advancement of Minorities through Education) in her memory.
