He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Benny Thornton and Marion Craig; his grandparents, Sonny and Ann Hastie; his siblings, Charles Johnson, Carlius Johnson, Diane Thornton, Dora Stevenson and Benny Thornton; his children, Timika Hastie, Frederick Clay (Akiko), Darrell Hastie Jr. (Katie), Taiesha Hastie, Moriah McMunn (Charles), Nico Hastie and Nia Hastie; and his siblings, Regena Johnson and Alfred Dorsey. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
