He is survived by: his wife Carol Martz Ansani; his son AC Ansani (Michelle); his granddaughter Viviana; his stepgrandson Aidan of Las Vegas, NV; his daughter Nicole Ansani-Jankowski (Donald Smith); his granddaughter Ava Jankowski; his close friend Biscuit of Fox Chapel, PA; his sister-in-law Vonnie Martz Horwitz (Dennis); his nieces, Danielle Bigante (Rino) and Michelle Horwitz; and his great-nieces, Julia of Pittsburgh, PA. and Marissa Bigante of Pittsburgh, PA..

“As a colleague of Al's at Perry , I got to see first-hand the love and respect he garnered from literally thousands of young people whose lives were impacted with his guidance. His practical, common sense wisdom was exceeded only by his huge heart, his generosity, and his self-deprecating sense of humor. When I think of Al, I think about good times we had at school and on the golf course but I also remember him being a terrific friend especially to other faculty members in times of need. RIP AL”
