She was predeceased by: her husband Edward J Kern; her parents, John Smith and Louise Smith; her daughter Elizabeth A. Hunter; and her siblings, Joan Bowes and Russell Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Mary L Kern, Susan T. Lyons, Joan Roberts Nancy (Mike) and Tim Kern (Amy). She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
