He was predeceased by: his former wife Patricia L. Piper (Dayton); and his parents, George Richard and Marie C. Piper (Phillips). He is survived by: his brother William "Bill" Piper; his nephew Kirk (Kimberly Piper); his great-nephew Kyle Piper; his great-niece Korinne Piper; and his wife Patty.
