She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald E. Ford and Geraldine Ford (Barton); and her son Christopher S. Zimmerman. She is survived by: her husband Edward S. Carson; her children, Robin A. Saner and Mark A. Zimmerman (Neanndra L. Kinsloe); her stepson Kirby B. (Jessica); her grandchildren, Cody Saner, Samantha Saner and Tanner Zimmerman; and her brother Gerald "Butch" E. Ford Jr.. She is also survived by three step grandchildren.
