He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Kurtz and Esther Kurtz (Glass). He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann (Hainley); his daughters, Tina (Daniel Hollinger) and Bev (Keith Sensenig); his grandchildren, Nathaniel Hollinger and Kaitlyn Sensenig; and his sister Mildred Kurtz.
