He was predeceased by: his parents, David Hoover and Elizabeth Hoover (Martin); his son Lloyd M. Hoover; and his brothers, Benjamin (Mary Hoover) and Henry.
He is survived by: his wife Anna F. Hoover (Martin); his children, Paul (Susan Hoover) of Ephrata, Ivan (Louise Hoover) of Leitchfield, KY, Melvin (Regina Hoover) of Leitchfield, KY, Jonas Jr. (Ruth Hoover) of New Holland, Verna (Jerry Martin) of New Holland, Nancy (Mark Hoover) of Leitchfield, KY, Edna (Harvey Hoover) of Leitchfield, KY, Lucy (Phares Martin) of New Holland, Marie (Nevin Martin) of Leitchfield, KY and Edith; his siblings, Rufus Hoover of New Holland, David and Lydia Martin of Denver; his siblings-in-law, Alma Hoover of Hopkinsville, KY, Aaron Martin of Denver and Lydia Hoover; his sisters, Martha (Phares Martin), Anna (Paul Martin) and Lizzie Martin; and his siblings-in-law, Sarah Hoover and Rufus Martin. He is also survived by 63 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jonas Hoover Residence (494 Reidenbach Rd, New Holland, PA 17557). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Reidenbach Mennonite Church (125 Martin Rd, New Holland, PA 17557).
