He was predeceased by: his former wife Mildred Joan Moore; his parents, Haradon Rice and Marguerite Rice; his siblings, Dennis Rice, Marietta Martin (Robert) and Marguerite Stephens (Ned); and his son-in-law Steve Marchi.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen; his children, Jodi Marchi, Lisa Jill Bauman (Bruce), Haradon Jay Rice (Sharon), Jennifer Loding (Jeffery), Lawrence Stafford (Kelly), Daniel Stafford (Pamela), Mary Stafford and Timothy Stafford (Andrea); his grandchildren, Laura Bender (Gabe), John, Alex Marchi, Julie Penfold (Justin), Jacqueline Combs (Joseph), Joshua, Joseph Rice, Emma Verduin (Joseph), Samuel Loding, Alison Stark (Nickolas), Matthew, Gabrielle, Amelia, Elizabeth and William Stafford; and his great grandchildren, Hailey, Patrick Penfold, Rowan, Finn Bender, Deklen and Lincoln Verduin.
