He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Cain and Mildred Cain (Rines); and his brothers, Robert, Michael and Kenneth Cain.

He is survived by: his wife L. Jeannine Cain (Hanus); his children, Brian R. Cain (Lisa), Maureen J. Wade (David) and Kathleen A. Foster; his parents-in-law, Bryan Foster and Theresa Lightner; and his grandchildren, Brenden Cain, Melissa Cain, Kristin Wade, Steven Wade (Meghan), Erin Foster and Kathryn Foster.
