He was predeceased by: his siblings, Elizabeth Grant and Allan. He is survived by: his wife Helen E. Wineholt (Gemmill); his sons, Dale (Ruth) of Chantilly, VA and Ronald (Cookie) of Arnold, MD; his granddaughters, Adrienne, Lauren and Wendy; his great grandchildren, Mikaela, McKinsey, David, Jeremy and James; and his brother Phillip.
