He was predeceased by: his parent George Stokes; his wife Shirley A. Stokes (Lear); his siblings, Norma Smith (Stokes) and George Stokes, Jr.; and his stepfathers, Boyd Muir and Joseph Bernabo.
He is survived by: his parent Susan Stokes (Wambaugh); his children, Richard Stokes (Sally) of Cramer, Ronald Stokes (Rhonda) of Dallas, NC, Rob Stokes (Barb) of New Florence, Debbie Brinton (Geoff) of Lexington, KY and Lori Hollobaugh (Hooch); and his grandchildren, Jennifer Eritano (Bobby), Heather Strong (Matt), Christopher Stokes (Tracy), Courtney Cahoon (Glen), Ty Hoffman (Leighann), Angel Hoffman, Cullen Stokes (Brady), Tyler Stokes (Lindsay), Ryan Dupre, Susan Sauers (Jake) and Benjamin Hollobaugh (Emily).
In lieu of Flowers memorial donations may be made in Dick and Shirley's name to Robinson Evangelical United Methodist Church Building Fund.
