He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence E. and Mary A. Sterner (Reigle); and his brothers, Raymond and Edwin Sterner. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Kossar; his children, Robert Sterner, Wendy Doebler and Kathy Sterner; his stepchildren, Michael and Maria Kossar; and his sister Kathryn "Kate" Wandell.
