He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne A. Stump and B. Ruth Stump (Fisher); and his sister Lana Rote of New Columbia. He is survived by: his wife Janice Stump (Gerhardt); his son Stewart; his grandson Daniel (Katherine); his great grandchildren, Hayes and Emery; and his siblings, Wayne Jr. (Sharon), Ruth Forbes Northumberland (late Richard Kitchen), Dale (Kathy) and Christine (Charles Long Jr.). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
