He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shaner and Laura Shaner; his son James D. Shaner; and his brother Daniel Shaner. He is survived by: his wife Myrna M. Shaner (Snyder); his children, Robert W. Shaner (Yalanda) of Hillsville, Sherry A. Shaner of New Castle and Russell P. Shaner, Sr. (Angel) of New Castle; and his siblings, Larry Shaner, Michael Shaner and Rebcca Turner. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
