He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis DeCaprio and Philomena DeCaprio (Gagliardo); and his wife Thelma DeCaprio (Flaugher). He is survived by: his children, Cathy (Scott Wells), Calif and Robert DeCaprio of New Castle; his sister Adele Torockio of Pittsburgh; and his grandchildren, Griffin, Paige Wells and Roman DeCaprio. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
In recognition of Gene's decades of contributions to the arts, he received a special citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives where they designated July 3rd "Gene DeCaprio Day.".
