With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Loretta Jean Umstead (New Castle, Pennsylvania), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 23, 2025 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Temenski and Mary Bernarda Owoc; and her siblings, Helen Wyza (John), Maryjane Kelley, Margaret "Peggy" Plonka (Lee) and Alexander "Sonny" Temenski.
She is survived by: her husband Russell K. Umstead; her children, Daniel J. Umstead (Jill) of Butler, Pennsylvania, Dawna J. Menton (Frank) of Greencastle and Janice M. Patterson (Jeff) of Volant; her sister Carol Black of New Castle; her grandchildren, Jesse, Tyler, Erica, Nickolas and Benjamen; and her great grandchild Nadine.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (2429 Wilmington Rd, New Castle, PA 16105). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dementia Society of America, 188 N Main Street Doylestown, PA 1890.
