He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Mengel and Marguerite Mengel (Holton); his former wife Ruth L. Mengel (Hall); his sons, Clint Alan Mengel and Shane Michael Mengel; and his sisters, Karen Wylie and Darla Cutchall.
He is survived by: his sons, Abel L. Mengel (Tammy) of Slippery Rock, PA and Shawn M. Mengel (Beverly Tomei) of New Castle, PA; his fiancée Carolyn Zarybnicky; his sister Elaine Chalupiak (Joey) of Baden, PA; and his brother-in-law Jim Wylie of Freedom, PA. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
