He was predeceased by: his parents, James Albert and Frances Alberta Headland Simpson; his wife Alice Catherine Rhodes Simpson; and his brothers, Clyde Allen and Richard Simpson.
He is survived by: his children, Donald H. Simpson Jr. (Tina) of Ocala, FL, Mary Alice Kight (Daniel) of Anderson, SC and Melanie Simpson of New Castle; and his siblings, Carolee Lackey of Miamisburg, OH, Lois Thurel of Beaver, Barb Whalen (Patrick) of Connoquenessing and Paul Simpson (Lana) of East Palestine. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
