He was predeceased by: his parents, Orie C. Bonzo and Marie C. Bonzo (Young); his wife Kathryn L. Bonzo (Rinard); and his siblings, Clayton Bonzo, Virginia Rape and Thelma Filbert.

He is survived by: his children, Kevin Bonzo (Brian Heilman) of York, PA., Karen Hockenberry (Gary) of New Sewickley and Kimberly Mayhue (Dean) of New Sewickley Township; his grandchildren, Katelyn Adams (Steven), Kurt Hockenberry (Britany), Kameron Mayhue and Kaleb Mayhue; his great grandchildren, Gracelyn, Clayton and Christian Hockenberry; and his sisters, Jean Gold and Shirley Moore (Keith). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers contributions in honor of Gayle, may be made to the Marion Hill Christian and Missionary Church.
