It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor N. Ludwig Smolar of New Brighton, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 26, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Grisnik and Nettie Grisnik (Zivitz); her former husband Jack Ludwig; her husband Rudy Smolar; and her siblings, Elizabeth Spretnak, Anna Mae Fudjak and Jake Grisnik.
She is survived by: her children, Judy Pasquale (Denis), Maureen Moldovan (Edward) and John Ludwig (Vickie); her grandchildren, Bryan Pasquale (Tracie), Tom Pasquale (Jamie), Lauren Kozak (Roman), Daniel Moldovan (Liz), Katie Montagazzi (Matt), Jessica Henry (Nick), Michael Ludwig (Erica) and Andy Ludwig (Payton Cianfarano); her great grandchildren, Dominic and Dylan Pasquale; her grandchildren, Lily, James Pasquale, Dmitri, Judah, Ari, Matteo Kozak, Charlie, Jackson Moldovan, Louis, Enzo Montagazzi, Amelia, Harlow, Josie Eleanor Henry and Noah Ludwig; and her sister-in-law Nancy Grisnik. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials to be made in her name to the New Brighton Public Library or Little Sisters of the Poor.
