He was predeceased by: his parents, David R. Peterson and Amanda M. Peterson; and his siblings, Stanley Peterson, June Millward, Frances Moshier and Beverly Blaine.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria S. Peterson; his children, Jay R. Peterson, Stephen R. Peterson (Lynette), Susan K. Peterson and Valerie J. Hartley; his siblings, David Royce Peterson (Janet) and Beulah "Billie" Stevens (William); and his brother-in-law Matthew Blaine. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests memorial contributions be made if desired to the Hope Lutheran Church 45 Maple Drive Beaver, PA 15009.
