He is survived by: his brother-in-law Earl Cornman; his wife Mary Ann (Ellenberger) of New Bethlehem; his children, Thomas J. Shaffer (Lois Guthrie) of Dayton, PA, Jeffrey L. Shaffer (Pamela Serene) of Kittanning, PA, Nancy Starr (Bill) of Elizabeth, PA and Connie Brocious (Simon) of Sommerville, PA; and his sister Dorothy Cornish (Clarence) of Kittanning. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
