He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark E. Champion and Helen L. Champion (Swartfager). He is survived by: his wife Traci R. Champion (Shaffer); his son Ethan C. Champion; and his brothers, Darl Champion (Vicki) of Greensboro, N. C., William Champion (Bonnie) of Summerville and Dennis Champion (Norma) of Williamsburg, VA.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clarion County 4-H Scholarship Fund.
