He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sullenberger and Margie Sullenberger (Irwin); and his significant other Dolly. He is survived by: his daughters, Traci Sullenberger (Doug Dwyer) and Tina Finnigan (Mike Mazzoni); and his grandchildren, Nicholas Finnigan, BreeAnna Cline, Cody Finnigan and Alyssa Yeckel. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law.
