It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Lewis Downey of New Alexandria, Pennsylvania, born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis W. Downey and Evelyn Morgan Downey; and his siblings, Virginia Kelly, Jack, Thomas, Ronald and Richard Downey.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Margaret Sloan Downey; his children, Brenda David (Wayne) of Derry and Robert Lewis Downey Jr. of Derry; his sister Patricia Stratton of Derry; and his grandchildren, Theresa Florence (Corey), Wayne Michael David (Deanna), Shannon David, Jessica Daman (John) and Gena David. He is also survived by four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
