He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Francis Bahl and Freda Loretta Cilvick (Litzelman); and his stepfather Joseph Cilvick. He is survived by: his siblings, John R. Bahl of New Albany and Catherine Robbins of Dushore; his nieces and nephews, Ronald J. Bahl (Julie) of New Albany, William M. Bahl (Tammy) of New Albany, Leon F. Bahl (Dee), James Robbins (Stephanie), Michael Robbins (Linda), Debbie Cole (Tom), Dawn Lambert (John) and Michelle Williams (Bill); and his great-nephews, Dustin Bahl and Travis Bahl.
