It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Pondish of Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 23, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Pondish (Zimardo); his parents, John Pondish and Mary Pondish (Macik); and his siblings, Anthony Pondish and Marie Poirer.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher (Susan) of Staten Island, NY, John (Lorena) of Allentown, PA, Georgia Young of Lehighton, Virginia (Gerald Stanley) of Phoenix, AZ and Maria (Brett Kreiter) of Malvern, PA.; his grandchildren, Jessica Pondish, Nicholas Pondish, Mitchell Kreiter, Stephanie Kreiter, Melissa Malatak, Rebecca Miller, Ryan Stanley and Kira Stanley; and his great grandchild Sophie Heffelfinger.
In accordance with CDC precautions for the public concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, masks will be required while inside the funeral home and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
