He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Watkins and Evelyn Watkins (Cartwright); and his brother Thomas David Watkins. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Watkins (Lobazo); his children, Lynne Weber (Robin) of Imperial, PA and Dr. Richard R. Watkins (Tracy Lemonovich) of Aurora, OH; his sister Deborah Duvall; and his grandchildren, Savannah Watkins, Isaac Watkins and George Weber. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
