He was predeceased by: his parents, John Melcer and Valeria Podobinski Melcer; his wife Concetta Ann "Dolly" Alfano; his son Raymond Melcer; and his siblings, Edward, Stanley Melcer, Maryann Melcer, Stella Melcer, Clara Klamut and Valeria Klamut.

He is survived by: his children, Brian Melcer (Melanie) of New Castle and Valerie Ostrowski (James) of Allison Park; and his grandchildren, Meagan Hoellerman (Todd), Michael Ostrowski and John Ostrowski.
