He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Gunther and Mildred Gunther (Balliet); his wife Jacqueline L. Collins; and his brothers, Elmer and Larry Gunther.
He is survived by: his children, William D. Gunther, Jr. (Laurie) and Tammy Heaps; his son-in-law John Heaps; his sisters, Ann "Sally" Fullmer (Kermit) of Fredericksburg, VA and Virginia "Ginger" Foulds (Jim); and his sisters-in-law, Janice, Linda and Barb. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
